ECOMMIT's home base, Satsumasendai City, started collecting unwanted clothing through PASSTO, a resource recycling service at seven locations in Satsumasendai City.

(Head office: Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture; CEO: Teruyuki Kawano; hereinafter “ECOMMIT”), which builds infrastructure for the collection, sorting, and redistribution of unwanted goods toward a recycling-oriented society, and Satsumasendai City (Mayor: Ryoji Tanaka) in Kagoshima Prefecture have concluded a partnership agreement to promote a recycling-oriented society. This agreement is the first of its kind in the world.
Under the agreement, collection boxes for unwanted items from ECOMMIT's PASSTO resource recycling service will be installed at seven locations in Satsumasendai City, including city hall and other public facilities, to provide a mechanism for reusing and recycling clothing no longer needed at home, rather than disposing of it. The entire community will work together to recycle resources.
